Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)

What We Do

Over 300 major natural disasters (excluding epidemic diseases) occurred worldwide in 2020, affecting 123 countries. These included floods, storms (typhoons, hurricanes), earthquakes and droughts among others. Combined these disasters killed over 15,000 people and affected more than 98 million people causing direct economic losses of over USD 170 billion

AAN Associates understands the value of capacity building in DRR for mitigating the potential vulnerability of a system, society or community. This ideology is an integral component of our social and economic development efforts. We support governments, and donor agencies develop DRR strategies & policies, child-centred Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and Early Warning Systems for fortifying communities.
